From July 31 to August 2, it was once again time for our annual 3SamCup: 20 teams from Germany, England, Switzerland and Austria came together for our lacrosse tournament. Teams camped right next to the fields and, in perfect summer weather, spent two days battling for every ball, competing hard and having plenty of fun along the way.

As always, there was no shortage of energy supplies: grilled food, fries, ice cream, smoothies and plenty of drinks were available throughout the weekend. And whenever things got a little too hot, there was not only the nearby Dreisam river to cool off in, but also two brand-new pools this year, which quickly became popular meeting spots.

Saturday evening brought two special highlights. For the first time ever, we hosted our All-Star Game: each team was allowed to nominate two or three players, who then joined forces to take on the All Stars from the other teams.

After that, things got even more special with our first-ever glow-in-the-dark game! A glowing ball, string lights on the goals and small bike lights attached to the sticks transformed the field into a glow lacrosse arena and definitely made this one of the highlights of the weekend.

And of course, the evening was far from over after the glow-in-the-dark game: everyone came together for the players’ party to celebrate, dance and give the first day of the tournament a proper send-off.

There were trophies to hand out at the end of the weekend as well: in the women’s division, the Münchener Gurkentruppe took the win, while in the men’s division the defending champions, the KarMa Görls, successfully retained their title. And in the mixed division, we had a very special reason to celebrate ourselves: for the first time ever, the Pumas managed to keep our own trophy at home as the host team!

And with that, a weekend full of exciting games, sunshine, delicious food, cold drinks and plenty of good vibes came to an end. A huge thank you to all the teams, volunteers and spectators – we’re already looking forward to next year!
